That's a shame - they should store your post as a draft so you can post it once you have the correct privileges. It's just above the seatbelt that you can see on the photo there.Īaaah so that's what it is!! I figured it might be that. The last photo isn't very clear, sorry, but it shows where the wire comes out the other side of the canvas. It feeds behind the canvas at that point so maybe try pulling from there and see what comes out! The second photo where you can see a bit of rear windscreen is where the wire originates. So I really hope you actually do have this! Otherwise it should be possible for your dealership to fit it to your existing wiring I guess - it's not rocket science. Regarding Stefano Ciriani's comment, I wouldn't be surprised if this system didn't exist before FCA decided they were going to make an adaptable hard-top. FCA has basically taken a straight cable and made a loop in it where they can unclip the contactors. As you can see, they are merged together as one cable with the possibility to unclip them so you can clip the hardtop into one of them. The photo with my hand shows the two sockets that are clipped together when the soft-top is in use. I'm hopeless with forums so it appears to have flipped my photos on their side. I've done it since but forgot to put the photos up here. So when I got my car out after posting the previous message within minutes it was covered in a fine yellow dust - clouds of pollen were everywhere so it was a bad idea to get the roof off that day. There was no proper Nordic winter tires available at this size so I had to do with Mid-Eu winter tires. This thread in Finnish at my own blog (with bigger zoomable images): Īnd yes, I have winter tires (mandated by law in Finland) Monaco 7.5x17 4/100 ET40 B73.1 rims and Pirelli Sottozero 3 205/45R17 tires.Thread where I was considering which roof to buy:.The resources and links related to this topic: I am ready for some serious snow and cold (and I do have warm garage at home and in office). The roof looks good and is much more silent than the soft top. In the end I am super happy with the outcome. The longer and detailed install in following chapters: Switch the rear window heater connection from the soft top for the new hardtop.Install the two brackets and screw in their bolts near the B-beam.Screw in the two bolts at the slab holes.Put the hardtop in place with a friend and latch it to the edge of the windshield same way as the soft top is latched. Therefore my choise was the expensive original part. I also read from forums they may have both quality and delivery difficulties. However, the American roof provider did not respond to emails. In internet there is a spare part manufacturer and web shop offering a similar hard top half the price. I paid an eye watering 3700 EUR for the top. This article describes how to install the hard top on my car. Therefore I ordered Abarth 124 Spider GT carbon fiber hard top ( ) for winter use. The soft top can handle the cold conditions but ice in seams and mud, salt and other splashes will be hard on the soft top. I bought it year-round driving in mind, and I live in Finland, Europe with good winter.
